Welcome!
My name is Sarah Nelson, and this is sarahndipity. I'm recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a major in Journalism, a minor in English, and a Fundraising & Philanthropy Communication Certificate.
I've always loved to read and write, which led me to study Journalism and English; and I love helping others and spreading kindness and doing good, which is why I decided to add a Fundraising & Philanthropy Communication Certificate.
There are so many things I would love to do in this big, beautiful world. Magazine (printed or online) writing and editing, book editing or reviewing, communications for a nonprofit or publication, social media marketing: all of these are things I'd like to do! No matter what I end up doing or where I end up doing it, the most important thing to me will always be the love I give and receive to and from my friends and family. I'm currently the assistant coordinator for the Fundraising & Philanthropy Communication Certificate (yes, the very one I received as an undergrad!) at the University of Iowa.
You might be curious about the title of my blog. I’ve always been so intrigued by the idea of fate, destiny, serendipity. (Also “Serendipity" is one of my favorite movies!) And it just so happens that my name fits into the word—how serendipitous!
You also might be curious about the titles of each post. Each post title will be a quote from a writer, whether it originally appeared in a book, poem, article, you name it. I’ve always loved to read and write and hope to make a career out of it, so this is my way of thanking all of the writers of the world for their words.
