Spring is my absolute favorite season.
And I think spring is very underrated. People love summer because of the heat and the sun and the long days. Fall is a favorite because of football games and big sweaters and scarves, and boots. Not many people love winter, but some really do enjoy the snow. And who doesn't love Christmas?
But spring is my absolute favorite season and for many reasons.
Iced Coffee
I know some people drink iced coffee year round (Holly, I'm looking at you), but I only opt for a cold beverage when it's warm(ish). I'm currently enjoying my second of the week.
Rain
Yesterday and last night it actually rained! Rain, not snow. I was so excited to break out my rain boots for some puddle splashing instead of snow stomping. Now I'm just waiting for a good thunderstorm.
Open Windows
In my apartment we turned off the heat and actually opened some windows. I love letting in a fresh, cool breeze. I even slept with my window open last night!
Being Outside
I would sleep outside if I could when it's so nice out. After being cooped up inside all winter, it's amazing to get outside and take in some fresh air. Last weekend a couple friends and I went hiking, and it was a blast. Though the trail was a little muddy, it was so fun to try something new and see a new aspect of my second home.
Color
During the drab winter months, everything just seems so gray and blah. As spring approaches, it seems to bring color with it. Suddenly everyone is wearing more color, and everything outside just seems to come alive.
Flats, Sneakers, and Sandals - Oh my!
As much as I love a good boot, I'm so ready to switch up my footwear. Though my snow boots are a lifesaver in the winter, I'm ready to put those heavy suckers away until next year. Bring on the light, simple, and colorful footwear of spring!
A New Attitude
As winter melts into spring, all of our bad attitudes seem to melt away, too. Everyone just seems more happy and cheerful, including myself (well, at least once I finish all of my midterms). Good weather just puts me in a good mood, so keep it coming.
Spring Cleaning
I'm a total neat freak, so spring is the best time of year for me because of spring cleaning. I love tossing out the old and sprucing everything up to feel fresh and new, just like the whole spring season. I can't wait to get organizing!
