Look after my heart—I've left it with you.

Happy Valentine's Day! Ah, the day of love. I love love, don't you? Love in any form just makes me so happy. Today is such a beautiful day: the sun is shining, I'm done with classes by noon, and it's a day to celebrate love! While it's important to celebrate love every day, many people take the opportunity to do it even more today, so why not join them? I want to celebrate my valentines—yes, all of them because a girl can't have just one valentine! There are so many things in my life that I love, and I want to recognize those things today.

Mom and Dad

My parents are the most important people in my life, and I love them oh so much. Their love is such an example; they're just silly and love each other for who they are. Mom and Dad, you do so much for me and are always there to help and encourage me. Thanks for letting me call you every day and for always being there for me! I love you!

Holly {and Seth}

Of course my sister is one of my valentines, and I can't forget about Seth! Not only are these two important to me individually, but their love for each other is such an example. They love each other and their son so much, and they love me so much, too. I don't know if I'll end up in Des Moines after graduation, but the fact that they're making plans for all of our lives for if I do just makes me feel so loved. I love you, Holly and Seth!

Calvin

Perhaps my favorite valentine? This kid has taught me so much about love in the last two years, and I absolutely cannot imagine my life without him. Watching him grow is one of my favorite things, and I love spending time with him. I love you so much, Cal! Will you be my valentine?

Friends

What would I do without my friends? My family away from my family! My friends are so amazing, and I'm lucky to have each and every one of them. Whether we're watching movies or TV, getting coffee or froyo or dinner, hiking, or just doing whatever, I always have the best time hanging out and laughing with my besties. I love all of you so much!

Family

And of course I can't forget the rest of my family! All of my grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins: you're all so important to me, and I don't know if you all truly understand how much you all mean to me. Family is so important to me, and I love all of the time I get to spend with each and every one of you. I love you all!

Her Campus

I have given the last two years of my life to Her Campus, so of course it is one of my valentines! I have put my heart and soul into this organization, and I have gotten to learn and do so much because of it. Thank you to HC for all of the opportunities and learning experiences you've given me over the last few years. I <3 HC!

Coffee

I sometimes think that I wouldn't actually still be alive without coffee. I can't start my day without it, and I usually can't continue my day without it. Whether it's straight black coffee or a fancy latte topped with whipped cream, coffee is what's actually flowing through my heart right now, so I can't forget it on this list of valentines. I love you a latte!

Books

Books have changed my life on more than one occasion, and they continue to do so with each page I turn. Books for class or favorites from my childhood or brand new books I pick up on my own: each book I pick up changes me, and I love what reading has done for me in my life. I love you, lit!

Myself

I might be my best valentine of all! Last year's Valentine's Day post was all about learning self love, and I think that's definitely something I've gotten better at since last year. I've learned to laugh at myself more and listen to myself and just do whatever I want to. You're doing well, Sarah, so keep on loving yourself.

Who or what is your valentine this year? How are you celebrating the day of love this year?

Lots of love,
Sarah
